The Murders of Jack The Ripper: Come, let your holiday follow in his footsteps.

Jack the Ripper had a host of followers even though his killings spread horror through the land.

So, here’s a suggestion! Why don’t you make it a thing to do – walk in the footsteps of Jack the Ripper and cover the same beat as he did over 120 year ago.

There are plenty of Jack the Ripper tours around, some are OK, some are absolutely brilliant.

Here’s a question: why did Queen Victoria’s relatives become involved and Walter Sickert, the great Victorian artist, become implicated? The scene of the murders is a quarter mile square area on what were dark, narrow, gas-lit streets in the east end of Victorian London. The territory has lost some of its horror but it’s still creepy; just what you need.

Jack the Ripper is now part of English folklore. The murders were committed in 1888, of five women, most of them prostitutes, which remain the most fascinating of unsolved crimes.
